Sequence Overview

(5 mins) Set Up:

• Divide the class evenly and open VTEC on your classroom whiteboard.
• Ensure headsets are turned on, fully charged, allocated to a group and Tennis Esports app is opened.

(10 mins) Theory:

Theory sessions are to be completed all together as a class. Begin the class by displaying VTEC, learning the tennis skill through a video and quiz to assess and reinforce their understanding. Quizzes can be done individually (online) or as a class.

(~25 mins) Group activity:

• Explain lesson sequence: Students take turns within their group to practice the skill in VR from part 1, meanwhile their peers observe and collect data relating to the STEM activity in Part 3.
• Time expectations: Each VR practice round should take a minimum 3 minutes, depending on the size of group per headset, the change over frequency can vary.
• Safety: The teacher ensures proper equipment setup, provides safety instructions, and helps students navigate the VR environment.
• Before starting, ensure data collection materials are provided, and students have casted their VR sessions to a screen (learnt in Level 1).

(15 mins) STEM activity:

After the VR practice, students reflect on their experience and learnings through group discussions, then analyze the collected data and prepare to visualize and communicate this for discussion.

(5 mins) End of lesson:

Reflect upon the lesson, learning objectives, pack up the equipment and remind students to book a VR session through the computer lab booking system
